Policy Intern

Overview

The Colorado Senate Republicans are seeking motivated and passionate individuals for a Policy
Intern position during session (January 11 – May 10, 2027). This is an excellent opportunity to
gain hands-on experience in the Colorado legislative process.

Responsibilities
The internship will be tailored to your interests, allowing you to engage in a range of
responsibilities, such as:
● Assisting in the research and analysis of proposed legislation and policy.
● Monitoring legislative sessions, hearings, and relevant news to track key issues.
● Supporting the drafting of memos, reports, and other documents.
● Attending meetings with stakeholders and elected officials.
● Conducting outreach and liaising with constituents.
● Performing administrative tasks to support the legislative team.
● Assisting in the preparation and research of communications materials for social media
This unpaid volunteer position offers flexibility, with responsibilities personalized to align with
your professional and academic goals. If you are a student, we can work with your school to
allow you the opportunity to get school credit for your work. It is the student’s responsibility to
contact his or her advisor and obtain academic credit within the institution’s guidelines. Ideal
candidates are eager to learn, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and in
team settings.

Qualifications
● Strong interest in public policy, government, or related fields.
● Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
● Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
Hours are flexible (8-40hr/week) depending on preferences and needs. This internship offers a
valuable chance to build your resume, develop professional connections, and deepen your
understanding of the legislative process.
