Legislative Aide
A Legislative Aide in the Colorado General Assembly is essentially the legislator’s personal staff. An Aide works with one Senator. An Aide handles all aspects of the Senator’s office – phone, e-mail, calendar, schedule meetings with stakeholders, constituent service, bill research, etc. A Senior Aide may also supervise a Junior Aide as well as interns.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) during the legislative session (January 8 – May 7, 2025). This is not a year-round position, however, opportunities to extend your service time exist.
The position of Legislative Aide can be the beginning of a career in government whether at the staff level, departmental level, lobbying or, perhaps, elected official. Many in these positions started out as an Aide.
We are accepting resumes through September 30. Screening interviews will be conducted from September 22 through October 11. Senators will conduct the final interview.
Compensation:
- Compensation is $24.57/hour with enrollment in PERA, the state’s pension program; Senior Aides receive insurance benefits.
