Today Governor Jared Polis signed SB24-210, an elections bill, into law. SB210 was presented to the legislature as a technical bill to prepare for the 2024 election. Opponents of the bill identified a number of reasons to oppose the legislation.
“I voted against SB24-210 and vigorously oppose the language that was added to sandbag the voters prior to the 2024 election,” said Minority Leader Paul Lundeen (R – Monument). “That problematic language in SB24-210, which was pushed through this legislature in the final days of this year’s session, must not serve as a starting point for any conversation about what the election process in Colorado looks like. If voters pass an initiative this November they believe will improve elections in Colorado I will participate in a process with all sides, including proponents and implementers, to uphold the will of the voters in a responsible way for Colorado.”
