GRAND JUNCTION – Today and tomorrow, Senator Ray Scott (R-Grand Junction) will host the Colorado Department of Transportation’s new Executive Director, Shoshana M. Lew, for public events in Grand Junction to discuss the future of transportation in Colorado.

The first event, which will be on Thursday, February 28, at 5:30 P.M., will be with the Western Colorado Contractors Association and Department of Transportation executives. It will be hosted at 2470 Patterson Road, Unit 14, in Grand Junction.

The second event, which will be Friday, March 1st, at 9:00 A.M., will be a Transportation Panel with Club 20. It will be hosted at the Ute Water Conservancy, 2190 H ½ Road, in Grand Junction.

Media is invited to attend either/both events, and both Senator Scott and Director Lew have committed to making themselves available for the media proceeding the events to answer any questions.

“I am honored to host Director Lew in Grand Junction,” said Senator Scott. “Her willingness to reach out to more rural communities and engage in discussions regarding the future of transportation in Colorado is very welcomed, and I expect that our meetings will help further the broader conversation of transportation moving forward.”

Senator Scott is the sponsor of Senate Bill 19-051, which would direct an additional $190 million to transportation funding this year, bringing the total to $340 million. The bill has not yet been heard in committee.
