Chief of Staff
Tim Griesmer has been the Chief of Staff for the Colorado Senate Republicans since January 2019. He previously served as the legislative liaison for former Colorado Secretary of State Wayne Williams. Tim is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York and the University of Denver Institute for Public Policy Studies. He lives in Denver.
Executive Assistant to Assistant Minority Leader John Cooke
Born and raised in Denver, Emily has been at the Capitol for over 6 years. She’s a massive sports fan, yes that includes soccer and yes she knows you hate it. She knows a little about a lot, has a few different hobbies, and is greatly enjoying her time in the Senate.
Executive Assistant to Minority Leader Chris Holbert
Keri Ebel serves as the Executive Assistant to Senate Minority Leader Chris Holbert and coordinates the Senate Republicans aide and intern program. Previously she worked as Office Manager for Centennial Institute at Colorado Christian University, has served in the Missions Department of a large south Denver area church, and taught pre-K through elementary school in Douglas County. Keri and her husband John like to travel and reside in Lone Tree with 5 kids, 5 grandkids, 2 dogs, and 4 grand-dogs between them.
Jason Helland is the Policy Director for the Colorado Senate Republicans – a position he has held since 2017. Mr. Helland is a member of the Colorado Bar and his church council. Additionally, Mr. Helland is an avid hockey fan who loves any opportunity to talk about last night’s games or trade rumors. A native from the Dakotas (North Dakota born, South Dakota raised), Mr. Helland now lives in Denver with his wife where the two can frequently be found reading or re-watching Harry Potter films.
Budgetary Policy Director
Elizabeth has worked for the Senate Republicans in various capacities since late 2014, and now serves as the Budgetary Policy Director. In her role she seeks to merge the caucus’s policy goals with the realities of the state budget. Time outside of the Joint Budget Committee is spent running (roads and trails, not campaigns), finding good food, and trying to learn Mandarin. Elizabeth and her husband live in Denver, Colorado.
Sage Naumann has been the Communications Director for the Colorado Senate Republicans since late 2018, previously serving as Digital Communications Director for the caucus since late 2017. Sage is also the Proprietor of Naumann Consulting, a design firm for small businesses and political candidates. Previously, he served as Executive Director of the Republican Party of San Diego County in California. When not doomscrolling on Twitter or conducting interviews, Sage can be found in your local antique shop or out taking photographs on his film cameras. He lives with his wife in Brighton, Colorado.
Kenneth joined the staff of the Colorado Senate Republicans in 2021. He is responsible for analyzing legislation and assisting members with their legislative research needs. Kenneth comes to the Senate Republicans after several years in non-profit fundraising operations in the higher education and healthcare industries. Kenneth is a 2015 graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder.
Jay Misany first joined the Senate Republicans as an intern for Senator Beth Martinez Humenik in 2017, then again as an aide for Senator Kevin Priola in 2018 & 2019. When not in session, he helped oversee elections in Denver County as an election judge. In 2020 he served as Regional Political Coordinator for Cory Gardner’s U.S Senate campaign, covering 25 counties on the West Slope. Jay is originally from Jerome, Arizona and enjoys exploring the history of small towns throughout the southwest. When he’s not working or kicking up dust with his dirt bike, you can probably find him next to a river in Durango.
