BIOGRAPHY
Senator Ray Scott represents Colorado Senate District 7 in Mesa County.
Senator Scott was born in Ohio and grew up in Rifle, Colorado where he graduated from Rifle High School. His father worked as a law enforcement officer in Denver and later joined the State Patrol, sparking his son’s interest in public service.
Senator Scott worked for Conoco as a terminal manager. In 1978, after working in Colorado and New Mexico, Senator Scott returned to Grand Junction and became Operations Manager for Williams Energy. After Williams Energy, Senator Scott founded Gas Products Corporation, a company that sells high-end equipment for luxury homes and commercial applications. He also owns Skyline Sports Center in Grand Junction and Scott Land Investments which specializes in land development and custom home building.
Senator Scott is committed to promoting faith, liberty and the values of our Founding Fathers. At the State Capitol, Senator Scott works to reduce job-killing regulations that stifle growth, oppose new taxes on Colorado’s middle class families, and fights to prioritize funding for safer roads and bridges in our state.
When not at the Capitol or managing one of his three businesses, Senator Scott enjoys fly-fishing and spending time with his family.
