BIOGRAPHY
Fighting to make sure Coloradans get equal opportunities—and expanded opportunities—animates Paul Lundeen’s public service. An example is his fight for all children (not just rich kids) to be able choose a great school and customized learning opportunities, which started when he served on the Colorado State Board of Education (2011-12, Member; 2012-14, Chair).
Lundeen pressed forward his efforts to support what he calls the Golden Triangle of Education—enthusiastic students, engaged parents, and exceptional teachers—as a member of the Colorado House of Representatives (2015-2018) where he served on the Education, Judiciary, and Transportation committees. He is an acknowledged leader on transportation issues and has effectively advocated for immediate improvement of the roads and bridges of Colorado by re-prioritizing the existing state budget, which has grown by nearly a billion dollars each year for the past decade.
Prior to his election into public life Lundeen worked as an entrepreneur where he founded companies that ranged from brain training & learning centers, national and international marketing services, real estate development, golf course association landscape management, and investment management. Early in his career, Lundeen was a Washington correspondent and bureau chief on Capitol Hill and was credentialed to the White House.
Lundeen was a Regent Scholar at the University of Nebraska and graduated from New York University, where he studied journalism, history and economics.
Senator Lundeen and his wife of 33 years, Connie, raised their two adult children in Colorado, both graduated from Lewis Palmer High School in Monument, Colorado.
