BIOGRAPHY

Rod Pelton has dedicated much of his life to serving rural Colorado through effective leadership and practical policymaking. A third-generation farmer and rancher from Cheyenne County, he was elected to the state Senate in 2022 after serving two terms in the state House and six years as a county commissioner. During his time in both the House and Senate, he has consistently fought to protect agriculture and rural Colorado.  In addition to his role in public service, he owns a cattle ranch and farm where he works as a custom harvester, traveling between Texas and North Dakota for wheat harvesting.

Married for 45 years to Kathy, they have two daughters and six grandchildren. Senator Pelton is passionate about advocating for the needs of rural Colorado, believing that true insight comes from experience. His unique perspective as a business owner and contract harvester, having signed both sides of a paycheck, has made him a fierce and respected advocate for rural Colorado. His experience is motivated by a desire to protect the rights and freedoms of future generations, ensuring a secure and prosperous future for rural Colorado.
