DENVER– This morning, Minority Leader Holbert’s (R-Douglas County) Senate Bill 22-116 unanimously passed in the Colorado State Senate. The bill changes the current law to allow an individual who has held a license, certification, registration, enrollment, or military occupational specialty in a different state to be entitled to the issuance of the applicable license here in Colorado, helping them get into the workforce quicker.
“I am glad to see this bill garner bipartisan support and pass unanimously in the Senate,” Minority Leader Holbert remarked. “Part of our Commitment to Colorado is to deliver a more affordable cost of living and reduce burdensome regulations that make it difficult for struggling families to get back to work. Senate Bill 116 does just that by cutting red tape and making it easier for new Coloradans to enter the workforce.”
The bill passed out of the Senate Business, Labor, and Technology Committee on February 23rd – also with unanimous support. This bill also gained the sponsorship of Senator Brittany Peterson (D- Lakewood).
Senate Bill 22-116 is the first bill to pass out of the Senate that is part of the Colorado Republican’s “Commitment to Colorado” legislative package.
