DENVER – Senate Minority Leader Chris Holbert (R-Douglas County) announced the appointment of Tim Griesmer as Chief of Staff of the Colorado Senate Republican Caucus today.

“We are very excited to welcome Tim to the team and are confident in his experience and abilities in leading our staff for this session and beyond,” said Leader Holbert. “Tim is well-respected on both sides of the aisle and comes with a wealth of knowledge from inside the building.”

Since January of 2015, Griesmer served in former Secretary of State Wayne Williams’ office, most recently as Legislative Director. During this time, the Secretary of State’s office worked on a host of bipartisan bills designed to strengthen Colorado’s election and campaign finance laws. The office won national accolades for its work, including being credited for helping Colorado become “the safest state in the country to cast of vote” according to a Washington Post article from 2018.

“I am humbled at the opportunity to serve as Chief of Staff for our 16 Republican State Senators, and I thank Leader Holbert for this great opportunity,” said Griesmer. “I am excited to get to work for the people of Colorado.”

Tim is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and was a former U.S. Army helicopter pilot who served two tours of duty in Iraq as well as a year in Korea. He is also a graduate of the University of Denver’s Institute for Public Policy Studies.
