President Grantham’s Statement on the Beginning of Hanukkah
DENVER – Colorado Senate President Kevin J. Grantham released the following statement on the beginning of Hanukkah:
“We would like to wish all Jewish Coloradans – and Americans – a very happy Hanukkah. May this joyous holiday bring warmth to your families, and may we all be vigilant in protecting every American’s right to peacefully practice whatever religion they subscribe to without fear of persecution.
For centuries, the Jewish people have searched for a home to be able to practice their faith freely, and we are proud to have the United States be that home for millions of Jewish families who have brought great cultural value and a fearless, resilient spirit to our greater American family. We are a stronger nation because of the contributions of the Jewish community.
May the Jewish people forever remain free, and the celebration of Hanukkah continue for generations to come. Happy Hanukkah.”
