President Grantham’s Memorial Day 2018 Reflections
From within the confines of our homes, the comfort of our cul-de-sacs, and the consistency of our daily lives, the sacrifices made for our freedom seem abstract and obscure. Whilst the battles have spared our mainland for generations, Arlington still wastes little space with its growth.
For the Soldier, the Sailor, the Airman, the Marine, and the Guardsman, those battles have been very real. May the pain they endured for a cause greater than themselves not be in vain.
This Memorial Day, I pray that Coloradans radiate happiness surrounded by their loved ones. I hope the food and drink consumed brings much joy, and the smiles and the laughter brings much peace. But, may we all celebrate with an understanding that there are those that gave the greatest gift of all – their lives – so that our lives may be that much more blissful.
God Bless you on this Memorial Day.
