Sonnenberg: This isn't the way government should work in Colorado

Denver -- Senate President Pro-Tem Jerry Sonnenberg (R-Sterling) released the following statement this evening in response to Gov. John Hickenlooper’s decision to call a special session of the Colorado General Assembly on Oct. 2:

"This is not the way government should work in Colorado. Calling a special session without an understanding of the game plan, or proper consultation with the legislators involved, is an irresponsible use of taxpayer dollars."

Contrary to what was stated in the Governor's executive order, Sonnenberg, who sponsored SB-267, did not hear from Hickenlooper's office until after the special session was called.
