Scott’s DMV Innovation Bill to be Signed by Governor Today

Denver -- Senator Ray Scott will join Gov. John Hickenlooper in Grand Junction today to sign Scott's Senate Bill 138, which aims at exploring innovative ways to deliver Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) services more quickly and efficiently, including at automated kiosks where license plates can be renewed.

The bill signing takes place at 9:30 am today at the Grand Junction Driver's License Office, located at 222 S. 6th Street.

Scott said there’s absolutely no reason why a trip to DMV should be as universally dreaded as a trip to the dentist. "This bill is about making government services convenient for citizens," Scott said. "The services citizens pay for with their tax dollars should always be simple to access."

What: Signing of SB-138, to begin studying delegation of DMV functions
