State Senator Ray Scott (R-Grand Junction) released the following statement today in response to the Department of Interior’s latest cancellation of energy leases in Colorado:
"Give the Obama White House credit for consistency, because it’s been consistently hostile to Colorado energy jobs from beginning to end. And thank goodness an end to this administration is near. These latest lease cancellations underscore the need for fresh leadership in Washington, which understands that it's not necessary to destroy the West's economy in order to adequately protect public lands. Gov. Hickenlooper’s support for Washington’s knee-jerk naysaying to energy production is another reminder of how little Democrats really care about rural working people, on the Western Slope and elsewhere across Colorado."
