President Grantham Announces Meeting to Discuss Workplace Harassment Policies

(Nov. 28) – President Kevin Grantham, Chair of the Executive Committee of the Legislative Council, announced that the committee will meet on December 15th, 2017, at 10:00 A.M. (MST) to discuss a comprehensive review of the current workplace harassment policies within the Colorado State Capitol.

“I look forward to meeting with leaders of both the Senate and the House to discuss how we can improve upon, and expand, our current workplace harassment policies to ensure that everybody in the Capitol can feel comfortable, safe, and respected,” stated Grantham.

The committee will discuss hiring an independent, third-party consultant to assist in the review of current policies. Additionally, the leaders agreed to discuss formalizing proposals to expand the scope and frequency of harassment training for all legislators and staff. These steps are in furtherance of the Harassment Prevention Initiative Grantham launched this month.

The Executive Committee of the Legislative Council includes Senate President Kevin Grantham, House Speaker Crisanta Duran, Senate Majority Leader Chris Holbert, House Majority Leader KC Becker, Senate Minority Leader Lucia Guzman, and House Minority Leader Patrick Neville.
