Bill Defending Constitutional Rights Passes Senate

DENVER--Today, the Senate passed another of Senator Tim Neville's (R-Jefferson County) bills to strengthen and defend our constitutional rights.

Senate Bill 17-116 aligns Colorado with fifteen states that have some form of law allowing the unrestricted concealed carry of firearms, or constitutional carry.

SB 116 requires Coloradans who wish to concealed carry to continue to observe existing guidelines that exist under state or local law.

"It's time we stop punishing law-abiding Coloradans," said Neville. "We're going to allow Coloradans to defend themselves, their loved ones, and their property without having to beg permission from the government."

SB 116 now moves to the House for consideration.
