Neville bill to repeal punitive late vehicle registration fees passes Senate

Today the Senate passed Senate Bill 15-018, which repeals the punitive late vehicle registration fees enacted under FASTER in 2009.

“This fee is a tax on hard working Colorado families,” said Senator Tim Neville (R-Littleton).  “This legislation will offer some relief from the punitive late registration fees enacted under FASTER.”

Currently, if the owner of a vehicle in Colorado fails to register their vehicle at the required time, they are hit with a $25 late fee every month the payment is late. The late vehicle registration fee is capped at a $100 fee.

The bill now moves to the Colorado House of Representatives.
