King Issues Statement on Human Trafficking Awareness Advocacy Day

The Human Trafficking Task Force of Southern Colorado is holding its second annual Human Trafficking Awareness and Advocacy Day at the State Capitol today, February 20th, 2014. 

“The work being done by the Human Trafficking Task Force of Southern Colorado is saving lives,” said Senator Steve King (R-Grand Junction). “Human trafficking is an especially vile crime and something we should all devote ourselves to eradicating. I’m honored to have such a great group of advocates at the Capitol today and I couldn’t be more proud of the work they are doing.” 

Senator King is a member of the Human Trafficking Awareness Advocacy Day Legislative Host Committee and has over thirty years of law enforcement experience with the Grand Junction 

Police Department and the Mesa County Sheriff's Office. 

The Colorado State Senate will also be voting on Senate Joint Resolution 14-012 today concerning Human Trafficking Awareness Advocacy Day.

SJR14-012 is being sponsored by Senators Kefalas, Newell, Crowder, Todd, and Zenzinger. House sponsorship for SJR14-012 includes Representatives McCann, Conti, May, and Stephens.
