Grantham Responds to Lebsock Expulsion

Denver -- Colorado Senate President Kevin J. Grantham (R-Canon City) issued the following statement today in response to a House vote to expel Democrat Representative Steve Lebsock:

“The House had to deal with a very difficult issue with multiple accusations, multiple accusers and possible retaliation. Members on both sides of the aisle had to make very difficult decisions, according to their own consciences. Notwithstanding, we believe that these very serious complaints of sexual harassment should be thoroughly investigated by law enforcement and prosecuted to the furthest extent of the law. If any member of the legislature is found guilty of these very serious violations, they are unfit to represent the people of Colorado and will be expelled from office. That is why we have called on Denver District Attorney, Beth McCann, to launch a full scale investigation into these allegations of sexual harassment by both Republican and Democrat lawmakers in both chambers of our legislature.”
