Grantham Commemorates 9/11/2001 Terror Attacks

Senate President Kevin J. Grantham released the following statement today to mark the 16th anniversary of the terror attacks of September 11, 2001:

"Although many years have passed since that dreadful morning in September 2001, when the monstrous evil of international terrorism was brought home to Americans in such a shocking way, the horrors and heroism of that day are still fresh in our minds as if they had happened only yesterday. But 16 years later, Americans can take pride in the fact that anti-American hatred, or evil by any other name, did not win that day. Our country was wounded but we stood back up and came together. We continue to remember and honor all those innocent lives stolen from us that day. On this solemn anniversary, I urge a return to the kind of unity and sense of common purpose Americans felt in the immediate aftermath of those events. Pray for our country. Pray for those we lost. Pray for and show compassion to the survivors. Let us show a renewed determination to stand united in the face of evil.

And never forget."

President Kevin J. Grantham
