Crucial Step in Health Care Transparency Signed Into Law

DENVER—Today, the governor signed Senator Kevin Lundberg's (R-Larimer County) Senator Kevin Lundberg's Senate Bill 17-065, taking significant steps to increase transparency in health care costs.

Senate Bill 17-065 guarantees that consumers will know more about the cost of services upfront, guarding against the shock of large bills after services have already been rendered.

"Coloradans have a tough enough time navigating the complicated structure of our broken health care system without worrying about hidden health care costs," said Lundberg. "Health care costs are skyrocketing. Today, we took a crucial first step in bringing those under control by making sure Coloradans know what they're paying before they get the bill."

SB-065 will take effect Jan. 1, 2018.
