Cadman Objects to Continuation of "Clean Power Plan" Hearings

Colorado Senate President Bill Cadman (R-Colorado Springs) today issued the following statement, objecting to Gov. John Hickenlooper’s decision to continue "Clean Power Plan" hearings despite a Supreme Court stay on further federal action issued 10 days ago:

“Colorado taxpayers should not be forced to pay for any more meetings to implement President Obama’s blueprint to destroy or eliminate our electric power plants.

When the U.S. Supreme Court makes a ruling we are all subject to its decisions - yes, even the Governor of Colorado.  I hope Governor Hickenlooper will reconsider his plans to inflict Obama’s EPA regulatory overreach on Colorado families, businesses and schools.

As the CEO of Colorado, the governor should be protecting Colorado citizens from the ‘irreparable harm’ of this overreach, not inflicting it on us.”
